PROJECT ENGINEER MEASUREMENT TECHNIQUE AND SIMULATION
Are you the talented Mechanical Engineer that HVR Engineering in Eindhoven is looking for? Can you independently set up and carry out project measurements on dynamically moving equipment and constructions, systems and components in the automotive and offshore industries?
HVR Engineering is an independent mechanical engineering company that is part of the IHC IQIP group. It concentrates its activities on non-linear structural analysis, simulations, prototype development, consultancy and measurement services, focused around hydraulic and mechanical power transmissions. The fundamental knowledge on these topics is applied in a wide range of markets including offshore constructions, ships, flood defences and the automotive industry. HVR Engineering is a specialist in carrying out measurements on components and systems to verify calculation models, in addition to detecting and solving potential problems in equipment and constructions. With eight employees, HVR Engineering has been working for a number of well-known companies within the Dutch industry for over 30 years. Due to expanding business demands, it is now looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join its growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for independently setting up the required technology and carrying out project measurements. This will also include the management of the existing measurement equipment, as well as further developing and expanding the technology and software used for this purpose. The measurements will be carried out on all types of dynamically moving equipment and constructions, systems and components in (among other things) the automotive and offshore fields. This includes:
- assessing systems
- setting up a method of approach and any associated planning for the measurements required for components and/or systems
- independently carrying out analysis and reporting
- discussing any results with the customer.
The link between theory and practice forms the backbone of HVR Engineering, meaning that implementation and comprehensive feedback on measurements are essential. This is why you will be responsible for initiating and performing simulations, as well as closing the feedback loop between practical results and the structural analysis. You will start by getting to know the company and becoming familiar with the current methods and projects. After which, you will start working independently on measurements and analysis. You will also follow a course to get acquainted with the calculation programs and programming environments that are commonly used, including Matlab/Simulink, Mathcad, C# and C.
To be eligible for this role, you must have a mechanical engineering degree and a strong affinity for carrying out measurements on components and systems. Knowledge of the programs Matlab/Simulink, Mathcad, C# and C is desirable but not essential. You will have a passion for the industry, including carrying out measurements, both onshore and offshore. In addition, you must have strong communication skills in order to present HVR Engineering’s services to customers, as well as discuss projects with your colleagues. You will be someone who likes to take on a challenge and can pick up projects relating to measurement technology and activities, as well as have an interest in developing processes in the future. You will be based in Eindhoven and should be prepared to travel for your job both in The Netherlands and abroad.
Please note, only applicants with a valid EU work visa will be considered as viable candidates. An online assessment and screening can form part of the recruitment process.
As a Mechanical Engineer at HVR Engineering, we offer you an exciting role that will enable you to develop your skills in a professional technical organisation and where you will come into contact with the latest technologies both internally and when working at customer locations. We are a no-nonsense organisation, where colleagues respect each other and combine their responsibility with the flexibility that is required for a small team to function optimally. As a professional that knows the value of the customer, your input will be valued and is an important component in the further growth of HVR Engineering.
